The Department of Public Works announced that the Massachusetts Department of Transportation will close the Fruit Street bridge June 6-7 for full depth roadway construction.

Work will begin at 6 a.m. on June 6. Construction is anticipated to wrap up by 6 p.m. the following day. During work hours, a detour will be in place and Hopkinton Police details will be requested to assist with traffic management. The bridge will be closed between Huckleberry Road and Saddle Hill Road during this time.

MassDOT is completing this work as part of the final roadway restoration on each side of the bridge over Interstate 495.
