Paving the east end of the Main Street Corridor Project is delayed to the end of the week as prep work continues, according to the latest update from the town.
Crews will continue milling and reconstructing the driveway of 77 Main Street and the fire station through Wednesday. One side of the driveway will remain open at all times. Driveway paving for Town Hall and BoMain Pizza was delayed to Wednesday. The east driveway will be open to two-way traffic.
Milling for transitions onto side roads began yesterday and will continue through today.
Crews are anticipated to begin paving from the fire station to the east end of the project on Thursday and Friday. This work includes side streets, along with Grove Street and Cedar Street, within the project area.
The eastbound detour on Main Street will continue through Friday between 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Traffic will detour onto Pleasant Street, then Maple Street and finally onto Hayden Rowe Street. Drivers are asked to plan ahead, allow extra travel time and follow posted detour signs.
Weather and other existing conditions may change the projected work schedule. Detours or alternating traffic will be used as needed for project work. For the most up-to-date information, visit the town’s project website at hopkintonmainstreet.com.
