Louise Turner
Louise B Turner, 90, of Natick and a former resident of Mashpee, passed away on Oct. 17, 2026. Born and raised in Detroit, she was the daughter of the late Margaret (King) and Wellington Bell, and was the beloved wife and best friend of late William E Turner for 66 years.
Louise was a talented artist, a two-time breast cancer survivor, and a remarkably active person. She loved to paint and create one-of-a-kind jewelry, some of which was sold in an exclusive shop in Naples, Florida, and in the museum shop at Dartmouth College’s Hood Museum of Art in New Hampshire. With a gift for bringing people together, Louise started several book clubs and served as the social club leader in her Naples condo community. She also participated in garden clubs, a chorus group, a memoir-writing group and an art group, and was an active member of the Mashpee Congregational Church.
During her years in Framingham, she served as a Blue Birds and Camp Fire Girls leader with her best friend, Pat Karpp. She worked in the administrative office at Drumlin Farm for several years and went on to hold administrative roles at Controlonics and Candela Laser before starting her own resume-writing business in Rochester Hills, Michigan. In her spare time, Louise enjoyed charitable work, hand-painting ceramic bowls for the Empty Bowls Project to benefit local soup kitchens and sewing dresses for Little Dresses for Africa so that young girls in Tanzania could go to school.
Louise lived in Mashpee for seven years. Prior to Mashpee, she lived in Naples, Florida; Waleska, Georgia; Rochester Hills, Michigan; and 25 years in Framingham; Grand Blanc, Michigan; San Diego; Flint, Michigan; and Detroit. Louise also lived part-time on Mascoma Lake in Enfield, New Hampshire, for 37 years, one of her favorite places.
Louise was deeply loved by her family, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her four children, Susan MacDonald and husband Jerry, Laura Broughton and husband David, David Turner and wife Kristen of Hopkinton, and John Turner and wife Erika. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Ben and Michael MacDonald, Gabriela (Abby) Turner Crisostomo, Kaitlyn and Sydney Turner, and Hannah, Phoebe and Chloe Goldsborough Turner. In addition, she also leaves behind her sisters Annette VanAtten and Linda Bryant, and was predeceased by her brother, Thomas (Sonny) Bell.
Private family services are being held. Arrangements are under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home of Hopkinton. A celebration of Louise’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mashpee Congregational Church, 259 Shore Drive, Mashpee, MA 02649 or the American Heart Association.
