Letter to the Editor: Ritterbusch has answers

by | Jun 18, 2020 | Letter to Editor

I am writing to encourage my Hopkinton community to vote for Amy Ritterbusch for Select Board. Amy is one of those people you can always rely on. She does her research exhaustively, she follows through and she is always ready to work for Hopkinton. Amy is involved in many aspects of our town already, serving on the Historic District Commission, the Growth Study Committee and the Planning Board. She is always working hard to improve Hopkinton.

As a Parks and Rec Commissioner, I have worked with Amy and the Historic District Commission to beautify our lovely Town Common in a way that reflects its history. The fence around the fountain and the plantings reflect historical aspects of the Common, and have truly made the space a special one. In addition, Amy and I were both very involved in Scouting. Our paths crossed many times at our respective fundraisers and events, and she was always in the center of everything, making it all run smoothly and effectively.

Amy is the type of person you come to with questions because she will find the answers. She is measured and deliberate, and compassionate, without being divisive. She brings people together and is extremely good at compromise and flexibility, without sacrificing effectiveness. Her knowledge, hard work and excellent organizational skills have been contributing greatly to the betterment of our community since she arrived here 16 years ago, and I believe those qualities will continue to benefit our town if she is elected to Select Board. Amy gets things done, even in unprecedented times. She knows how to adapt to new situations, and is willing to do the hard work. She has always been an asset to Hopkinton and will be even more so on the Select Board.

I hope you will join me in electing Amy Ritterbusch to the Hopkinton Select Board, but please be safe and cast your absentee ballot before June 29th (for instructions please visit: hopkintonma.gov).

— Laura Hanson, Hopkinton
