POLICE LOG

Feb. 23
12:19 a.m. Sgt. Cody Normandin assisted with a disabled motor vehicle on West Main Street.
12:45 a.m. Sgt. Cody Normandin and Officer Noah Buentello responded to a report of two cars stuck in snow on Grove Street. The cars were moved along.
6:52 a.m. Sgt. Cody Normandin responded to Wilson Street, where the DPW reported a plow was unable to get past a disabled box truck. The DPW was able to clear some of the roadway and get the vehicle unstuck.
7:17 a.m. Sgt. Cody Normandin responded to a report of a vehicle stuck in snow on Hayden Rowe Street and assisted.
9:08 a.m. A caller from Davis Road requested assistance due to wet floors from responders’ feet after a previous call, as she was afraid of falling again. Officers responded and assisted.
10:37 a.m. A Spanish-speaking caller wanted to report an accident from the previous week. Officer Samuel Hammond took the caller’s information and said another officer could call back to assist.
11:24 a.m. Sgt. Cody Normandin removed branches from Hayden Rowe Street.
12:09 p.m. Officer Noah Buentello checked with neighbors on Teresa Road to see if anyone recognized a vehicle after receiving a complaint. Eventually, an individual was located who could move the vehicle.
1:31 p.m. A Ray Street resident called to complain about snow in his driveway and requested removal. Officer Nicholas Walker checked the area. All was OK.
2:31 p.m. Officer Matthew LaTour responded to a report from the DPW of a disabled motor vehicle in a snow bank on C Street. The vehicle was removed.
3:38 p.m. A caller from Independence Place reported being stuck in the roadway. Officer Kyle Quinzani responded to assist.
4:40 p.m. The owners of a gas station on Main Street reported a white box truck had been parked in the lot since early in the morning, and the operator would not move out of the way for the plow. Sgt. Shannon Beloin, Lt. Aaron O’Neil and Officers Kyle Quinzani, Matthew LaTour and Justin Cappuccio responded, and the male party did not cooperate. The owner stated that the truck could stay there for the time being.

Feb. 24
8:42 a.m. A caller reported the traffic light on West Main Street was not cycling properly. Officer Matthew LaTour investigated and found the lights working properly.
2:49 p.m. A West Main Street store manager requested to speak with an officer. He was informed that a person stole from the store on Feb. 22. Officer Kyle Quinzani responded and took a stolen property report.
3:16 p.m. A caller reported suspicious activity on Mayhew Street and an open door at a building. Officer Nicholas Saletnik and Sean McKeon responded, spoke with a resident on the second floor and checked the interior. It appeared to be an oversight.
5:21 p.m. Sgt. Cody Normandin issued a parking citation on Main Street.
6:32 p.m. Officer Kyle Quinzani assisted a disabled motor vehicle on West Main Street and stood by with lights while AAA was en route.
6:58 p.m. Officer Kyle Quinzani assisted a disabled motor vehicle on West Elm Street.
9:16 p.m. A caller sought information about removing a person from a dwelling. Officer Brian Ziniti assisted and advised him to contact the court.
11:24 p.m. A caller reported a minor motor vehicle crash on Woodview Way. Officer Jennifer Manning responded, attempted to make contact with the registered owner of one of the vehicles and left a crash card at her residence. A report was taken.

Feb. 25
8:35 a.m. A caller reported a disabled motor vehicle in a bad spot on Elm Street and cars having to drive around it. Officer Nicholas Saletnik responded and reported the road was slick on the turn, and the vehicle was no longer there.
8:48 a.m. Sgt. William Burchard came across a vehicle that spun out into a snow bank on Oliver Lane and assisted the driver.
9:01 a.m. A motorist reported a school bus swiped his truck on Lumber Street and continued on. Officer Nicholas Saletnik responded and took a report.
9:17 a.m. Officer Benjamin Vaz came across a vehicle stuck in a snow bank on Main Street. A tow truck removed the vehicle.
10:02 a.m. A motorist reported she was stuck in a snow bank on East Main Street. Sgt. William Burchard responded and assisted. Front-end damage was reported.
10:18 a.m. Sgt. Matthew Santoro assisted the DPW with the traffic lights and snow removal on Grove Street.
11:44 a.m. A caller reported people stuck in an elevator on Church Street. Officer Benjamin Vaz responded along with the Fire Department and freed the occupants from the elevator.
12:32 p.m. A plow driver reported a vehicle in the middle of the roadway on South Mill Street and no one around it. Officer Benjamin Vaz responded and reported the vehicle was gone upon his arrival.
1:30 p.m. A caller reported a road rage incident that occurred 10 minutes earlier on West Main Street. Both vehicles continued on to Interstate 495.
4:37 p.m. A caller reported a vehicle complaint on Schofield Road. Sgt. Cody Normandin responded and advised the owner of the vehicle of the violation.
5:34 p.m. Officer Sean McKeon assisted a disabled motor vehicle on Clinton Street.
10:55 p.m. A caller reported two males locked inside a garage on Overlook Road. Officer Eva Cann and the Fire Department responded and assisted.

Feb. 26
6:29 a.m. Officer Eva Cann and the Fire Department investigated a report of the outside odor of gas on North Mill Street.
7:13 p.m. Officer Nicholas Saletnik took a report of stolen property on West Main Street.
7:49 a.m. A motorist reported a traffic light malfunction on Hayward Street. Officer Augusto Diaz responded, checked the lights and found them working properly.
8:24 a.m. Officer Nicholas Walker assisted a person with fingerprinting for employment.
11:20 a.m. A caller reported a fire hydrant on Knoll Road was buried in snow. The Water Department was notified and was to have the snow removed.
12:56 p.m. An Old Farm Road caller reported losing a black Labrador retriever. Officer Augusto Diaz responded and checked the area with a negative find.
1:00 p.m. Officer Nicholas Walker assisted a disabled tractor-trailer that was off the roadway on West Main Street.
1:20 p.m. Officer Nicholas Walker completed community relations on Main Street.
3:32 p.m. A caller reported a brown dog with no collar running loose in and out of the roadway on Chestnut Street. Officers Noah Buentello and Sean McKeon checked the area and did not locate the dog.
3:34 p.m. A caller complained of a driver of a bus operating at a high rate of speed and passing vehicles. Officer Brian Ziniti responded and spoke with the driver.
4:14 p.m. A motorist complained of a distracted female driver all over the roadway on Wood Street. Officer Justin Cappuccio responded, and the driver was gone upon his arrival.
4:57 p.m. Officer Sean McKeon completed community relations on West Elm Street.

Feb. 27
7:28 a.m. Officer Augusto Diaz responded to College Street for a school bus stuck on ice. Bus company personnel responded to get the bus out.
8:14 a.m. A Constitution Court caller reported stolen property. Officer Brenda Stanley took a report.
9:06 a.m. Officer Augusto Diaz responded to a motor vehicle crash on A Street and took a report.
10:26 a.m. A walk-in from Pleasant Street reported fraud. Officer Augusto Diaz assisted and took a report.
11:53 a.m. Officer Augusto Diaz took a motor vehicle crash report on West Main Street.
2:35 p.m. A caller reported an incident that took place at the dog park on Fruit Street. Officer Nicholas Walker spoke with the caller.
4:25 p.m. The Upton Police Department reported a disabled motor vehicle in a bad spot on West Main Street. The operator was waiting for a tow. Officer Noah Buentello responded and stood by while the tow truck arrived.
5:34 p.m. A walk-in from Davenport Lane reported he received bills for a rental car, and he believed it was a scam. Officer Brian Ziniti assisted and took a report.
6:14 p.m. Sgt. Shannon Beloin and Officers Noah Buentello and Justin Cappuccio responded to a motor vehicle crash involving two cars on Grove Street with air bag deployment. A female had possible broken ribs and a male had neck pain. A tow truck removed both vehicles. A civil citation was issued to the male operator for an open container. A report followed.

Feb. 28
12:10 a.m. A caller requested an officer to keep the peace while he retrieved an item from a Hayden Rowe Street residence. Officers Justin Cappuccio and Eva Cann assisted.
2:02 a.m. A Spruce Street caller reported his garage door opened randomly and he was concerned someone was in the garage. Officers Eva Cann and Justin Cappuccio responded, checked inside the residence and in the surrounding area and found all OK.
5:29 a.m. Officer Aline Matos assisted a disabled motor vehicle on Main Street.
10:56 a.m. A Fruit Street resident complained of town snow plows dumping dirty snow onto his property. The caller was to contact the DPW to solve the matter.
5:56 p.m. A caller reported she heard gun shots near Pratt Way. Officer Justin Cappuccio responded and checked the area with a negative find.
6:47 p.m. A Woodview Way resident reported an upstairs neighbor was making loud banging noises. Sgt. Shannon Beloin and Officer Kyle Quinzani responded and reported a couple of toddlers were running around creating the noise. No issues were found.
6:51 p.m. Sgt. Shannon Beloin and Officer Justin Cappuccio responded to a motor vehicle crash involving two cars on West Main Street. No personal injuries were reported.

March 1
1:57 a.m. Officer Jennifer Manning found a deceased deer on the side of the roadway on East Main Street and notified the DPW.
8:35 a.m. Multiple callers reported a deceased deer on the side of the roadway on East Main Street. Officer Benjamin Vaz responded and stated the deer was up against a snow bank and unable to be moved out of the way. He placed cones around the deer and contacted the animal control officer.
11:03 a.m. Sgt. Arthur Schofield checked on a motor vehicle on Ash Street and advised the owner of the registration status.
12:31 p.m. A caller reported a loon with an injured leg on the side of the roadway on Grove Street. The animal control officer was notified.
1:51 p.m. A Pinecrest Village resident reported an unusual inside odor. Sgt. Shannon Beloin and the Fire Department responded and investigated.
6:28 p.m. A walk-in from Yale Road reported he had not heard from his grandson in three days. Officer Justin Cappuccio assisted and entered him in the National Crime Information Center database as missing.
6:54 p.m. Officer Kyle Quinzani and Sgt. Shannon Beloin checked on a disabled motor vehicle on West Main Street. The vehicle was towed, and officers gave the driver a courtesy transport to Alltown Fresh.

March 2
8:59 a.m. Officer Matthew LaTour came upon a disabled motor vehicle on Wood Street and assisted.
8:47 a.m. A Constitution Court caller reported receiving threats. Sgt. William Burchard and Officer Matthew LaTour responded and investigated. A report was taken.
12:30 p.m. A North Street caller with a parking complaint spoke with Sgt. William Burchard.
1:17 p.m. A walk-in reported a verbal argument that occurred on Lumber Street. Officer Benjamin Vaz spoke with both parties involved and subsequently issued a criminal application for assault and battery.
1:58 p.m. A mail carrier reported a verbal disturbance on Claflin Place between a male and a female. Officer Benjamin Vaz responded and reported the argument was over the sale of a wheelchair. He spoke with both parties and took a report.
2:46 p.m. A caller reported while she was getting gas at a Grove Street gas station, the attendant went into his car after he swiped her credit card. The caller was advised to call back if she finds any fraudulent charges.
2:47 p.m. A Heartwood Way resident reported an inside odor of natural gas. Sgt. Cody Normandin responded along with the Fire Department.
3:03 p.m. A caller reported stolen goods from a construction site on Fitch Avenue. Officer Brian Ziniti responded and took a report.
5:07 p.m. Sgt. Cody Normandin and Officers Sean McKeon, Nicholas Saletnik and Brian Ziniti responded to a motor vehicle crash on Main Street involving two cars and airbag deployment. A civil infraction was issued for cell phone use while driving. A crash report was taken.
5:55 p.m. A  North Street caller spoke with Officer Kyle Quinzani about a parking complaint. Officer Quinzani spoke with the owner of a vehicle parked on North Street, and the owner moved his vehicle.
10:37 p.m. Sgt. Cody Normandin checked on a vehicle parked on South Street.
