According to Hopkinton High School visual art teacher Kris Kellenberger, senior Penelope Dallmeyer’s art is the product of a fascinating imagination. “Penelope’s artworks weave loose narratives that feel like the liminal space between sleep and awake,” Kellenberger stated. Dallmeyer earned two Scholastic Art and Writing Awards in 2026, receiving an honorable mention and a silver key, both in the design category. Kellenberger said the HHS senior’s work combines her interest in character design and a “growing understanding of complex color scenarios as they apply to light and landscape.”
The Arts Residency, sponsored by realtor Alan Connell, is a regular Hopkinton Independent feature. Every other week, Hopkinton Independent staff selects an individual to highlight following consultation with leaders in the local arts community.
