Barbara A. Sullivan

Barbara A. (Beswick) Sullivan, 90, a 68-year resident of Hopkinton, passed away on Oct. 30 at the Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Robert D. Sullivan, who died Feb. 10, 2012. They were married for 60 years. She was born in Natick, the daughter of the late Frank and Hazel (Gray) Beswick. She worked for Ryan’s Insurance Company of Ashland and also volunteered for many years at the Hopkinton Senior Center. She enjoyed playing golf, making wedding and other occasion cakes, sewing, spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and her time with her many friends.  Anyone who knew or met Barbara loved her, as she was a special lady.

She is survived by three children: Judy MacKinnon and her husband, Dale, of Natick, Paula Whitham of Whitinsville, and Daniel Sullivan and his wife, Wendy, of Uxbridge; five grandchildren, Keri Spriggs, Ryan MacKinnon and his wife, Heather, Scott Whitham, Cassy Sullivan and her husband, Sam Billings, and Kyle Sullivan; four great-grandchildren, Alexis and Kaylee Spriggs, Travis Whitham and Lincoln MacKinnon; a brother-in-law, Richard Sullivan; a sister-in-law, SK Beswick; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral was scheduled for Nov. 9. Services were under the care of the Matarese Funeral Home in Ashland.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Learning Center for the Deaf, 848 Central St., Framingham, MA  01701, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168 or to the charity of one’s choice.
