Each week, the Independent highlights an animal available for adoption at Baypath Humane Society in Hopkinton. This week’s adoptable animal is 7-year-old Candy.

Here is Baypath’s description of Candy:

“Candy is the kind of dog who brightens everyone’s day. Easygoing, affectionate and quietly loyal, she’s happiest simply being near her person — whether that’s following you from room to room, curling up beside you on the couch or settling in close at bedtime.

“She has a calm, independent side, but her favorite place will always be right by you. Candy isn’t looking for chaos or constant activity — she’s looking for connection, comfort and someone to share her days with.

“She’s friendly with visitors, house-trained and already knows cues like sit, come and stay. She enjoys the simple things — carrying around her favorite ball, spending time outdoors, basking in the sun and taking relaxed walks.

“Candy is looking for a home without cats. She has lived with other dogs in the past and enjoys time with well-matched dog friends.

“Candy has so much love to give and is ready to find a home where she can settle in, feel safe and be part of your everyday life.
