
Charles Moore
Charles W. “Chuck” Moore, 56, of Mendon passed away unexpectedly at his home on July 7, 2026. Chuck was the beloved husband of Lori (Sherman) Moore. High school sweethearts, they shared nearly 40 years together, marrying in 1992 and building a life centered on love and family.
Born in Malden on June 12, 1970, he was the son of Louise (Hurley) Moore of Bellingham and the late Richard Moore. Chuck grew up in Bellingham, graduated from Bellingham High School in 1988 and dedicated nearly 38 years to the Town of Hopkinton Department of Public Works, where he was known for his reliability and willingness to help others.
Chuck was deeply devoted to his family and community. He had a lifelong passion for football, serving as captain of the Bellingham High School football team before spending many years coaching youth football and later at Nipmuc Regional High School. He also was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was a thoughtful and dependable man who could always be counted on by both his friends and family.
He enjoyed golfing, camping and cheering on the New England Patriots, often sharing those moments with family and friends. Above all, Chuck cherished his role as “Papa” to his four grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
In addition to his wife and mother, Chuck is survived by his son, Derek and wife Melissa of Shrewsbury and their daughters, Isley and Stevie; his daughter, Danielle and husband Cam of Hudson and their children, Cole and Bea; his brother, Richard Moore and wife Jeannette; his sister, Kathy Antonellis and husband Mark; his mother-in-law, Carolyn Sherman; his sister-in-law, Donna Boni and husband John; his nieces and nephews, Matthew, Emily, Riley and Karen; along with many extended family members, lifelong friends, former players and coworkers. He was predeceased by his father, Richard Moore, and his father-in-law, David Sherman.
Chuck will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, coach and friend whose kindness and steady presence touched many lives.
In accordance with his wishes, Chuck will be cremated. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Callanan Cronin Funeral Home in Hopkinton.
