Fire flow test in South Street area may cause water discoloration Wednesday

by | Feb 15, 2023 | News

Water-Sewer Manager Eric Carty announced that there was to be a required fire flow test Wednesday (Feb. 15) at approximately 9:30 a.m. in the South Street area.

Because these test will take place on main transmission lines, customers might notice some discoloration during and after the tests throughout town. Individuals are cautioned to avoid doing any laundry, dishwasher loads or other water use activities during this time. Any discoloration that may occur will eventually dissipate. The water should be checked before being used, and individuals might need to run the cold water line to clear the internal pipes after the test is complete.
