Fire flow test Wednesday could lead to water discoloration

by | Mar 27, 2023 |

The town announced that a required fire flow test will take place on Wednesday at approximately 9:30 a.m in the Hayden Rowe Street area.

“Because these tests will take place on main transmission lines, customers may notice some discoloration during and after the tests throughout town,” reads the announcement from Water and Sewer Department Manager Eric Carty. “Please avoid doing any laundry [and] dishwasher loads or other water-use activities during this time. Any discoloration that may occur will eventually dissipate. Please check your water before using it. You may need to run your cold water line to clear your internal pipes after the test is complete.”

For more information, check @hopkintonwater on Twitter or visit the town’s website at hopkintonma.gov.
