Fire flow test Wednesday might lead to water discoloration

by | Apr 18, 2023 | News

The town’s Water Department announced that there will be a required fire flow test on Wednesday (April 19) at approximately 9:30 a.m.

“Because this test will take place on main transmission lines, customers may notice some discoloration during and after the tests throughout town,” the announcement reads. “Please avoid doing any laundry, dishwasher loads or other water-use activities during this time. Any discoloration that may occur will eventually dissipate. Please check your water before using it. You may need to run your cold water line to clear your internal pipes after the test is complete.”

For more information, follow the Water Department on Twitter @hopkintonwater or subscribe to the department’s notice feed.
