by | Aug 10, 2024 | News

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation announced an update to plans for temporarily closing the Fruit Street bridge over Interstate 495 in Hopkinton. MassDOT also announced upcoming nighttime closures to the southbound on-ramp from I-90.

Crews were supposed to perform daytime electrical relocation work on the Fruit Street bridge Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 7-8.

The work has been rescheduled for Monday, Aug. 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

During the work, Fruit Street will only be open to local traffic between Saddle Hill Road and North Street while detours are in place.

Evening closures on I-495 southbound ramp

MassDOT announced that the I-495 southbound on-ramp from I-90 will be closed during overnight hours Aug. 12-17.

The closures will be in effect each night starting at 11 p.m. and ending at 5 a.m. in order to accommodate construction operations.

In all work areas, appropriate signage, law enforcement presence and messaging will be in place to guide drivers.

Anyone driving through these areas should expect delays, reduce their speed and exercise caution.

All work on the roadways is weather-dependent and may be impacted due to an emergency.
