Jerry was a graduate of St. Benedict Prep in Newark, New Jersey, and West Point, prior to serving in the U.S. Army from 1960-63. He then went on to earn an MBA from Western New England College, and a Ph.D. in education from Boston University.

He was a former assistant headmaster of the Huntington School in Boston, and he taught at Westfield State College and Fitchburg High School. He most recently worked as a financial advisor with Wells Fargo for over 20 years.

In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by his daughter, Lisa A. Rivell of Northboro. He is predeceased by his sister, Alice Moore.

Relatives and friends may visit on Monday, Nov. 20, from 9-10 a.m. at the Callanan Cronin Funeral Home, 34 Church Street, Hopkinton. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Parish. Burial with military honors will follow in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Hopkinton.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Advocates, 1881 Worcester Road, Framingham, MA 01701 (advocates.org).
