Hopkinton’s Jimmy Hervol won his first event on the Minor League Golf Tour, posting a 1-shot victory in a rain-shortened tournament at Indian Spring Country Club in Boynton Beach, Florida, early this week.
Hervol shot a 7-under-par 65 in the opening round on Monday, taking a 2-shot lead. In Tuesday’s second round, which was delayed by a rainstorm, Hervol was at 11-under overall, without a single bogey in 32 total holes, when the tournament was cut short due to darkness.
Hervol picked up $2,100 for the win, and he received an additional $462 from the bonus pool and $440 in skins for an earnings total of $3,002.
