HHS Sports Roundup: Boys soccer knocks off Holliston

Owen Schnur scored a pair of goals and the Hopkinton High School boys soccer team, seeded 14th in the Division 2 state tournament, upset third-seeded Holliston, 3-1, in the second round on Wednesday afternoon.

Update, Thursday, 12:15 p.m.: The Hillers next will play No. 6 seed West Springfield on Saturday at 6 p.m. in the quarterfinals. That game will be played at Clark Field in West Springfield.

Schnur opened the scoring in the third minute, off a pass from Sean Golembiewski. Holliston tied the score in the 21st minute off a corner kick, and that’s how it stood at the half.

Schnur scored the go-ahead goal off a Declan Mick throw-in in the 43rd minute. Aryan Shah added an insurance goal in the 54th minute off a pass from Pierce Farrell. …

Registration for the winter athletic season is open at FamilyID. The deadline to register is Nov. 19, although families are encouraged to sign up early.
