HHS sports roundup: Girls basketball, girls hockey fall; Tuesday games postponed

The Hopkinton High School girls basketball team rallied to force overtime before falling to Westwood, 47-44, Monday night in Hopkinton.

After a tight first quarter, HHS fell into a 23-15 hole at halftime. The  deficit was five heading into the final quarter, but the Hillers caught the Wolverines at 36. Kiki Fossbender then hit a 3-pointer to put Hopkinton up, but Westwood answered with a trey of its own and the teams went to the extra period tied at 39.

Lauren Cho had a three-point play early in the OT to give Hopkinton a one-point lead, but it wouldn’t last.

The girls next play at Holliston on Wednesday, a game that was moved from Tuesday due to the snowstorm.

The boys basketball team’s game Tuesday vs. Holliston also was postponed to Wednesday. …

In girls hockey action Monday, the Hopkinton/Dover-Sherborn co-op team gave up two first-half goals en route to a 3-0 loss to Dedham. …
