HHS Sports Roundup: Volleyball sweeps Norwood

The Hopkinton High School volleyball team completed a sweep of Norwood on Tuesday and Thursday, winning both matches by 3-0 scores.

In Thursday’s road win, the Hillers were led by Melanie Gildea, who had eight kills, an ace and two digs. Cadyn Boyce contributed six kills, one ace and one dig. Kate Powers had four kills, one block, one ace and one dig. Cathryn Leighton finished with 16 assists, one kill, five aces and three digs. Sam Berenson shined on defense with seven digs, and she added two aces.

Before Tuesday’s win at home, the Hillers recognized their six seniors: Cadyn Boyce, Cassie White, Rachel Leeret, Hannah Quinlan, Mirabella Paolucci and Millie Senseney.

The Hillers close out the season next week with matches at Ashland (Tuesday) and home vs. Holliston (Thursday).

Malone leads unified basketball effort

The HHS unified basketball team dropped a 65-46 decision Thursday to visiting Bellingham despite close to 40 points from Hopkinton’s Jack Malone.
