Hopkinton State Park beaches remain closed due to poor water quality

The upper and main beaches at Hopkinton State Park remain closed after being deemed unsafe for swimming due to high bacteria counts.

The state’s Department of Conservation and Recreation announced Wednesday that there were high levels of enterococci bacteria, posing a harm risk if a person is submerged in or ingests the water.

Lake Maspenock is open for swimming and other recreational use.
