Thursday and Sunday nights on the Town Common are about to get a little more cinematic and musical with the Parks & Recreation Department’s annual summer movies and concerts programs.

Parks & Rec is kicking off its Thursday Night Movies on the Common series next week. The first film lined up for this summer is “Wicked.”

Summer movies will run every other Thursday. The last movie night will be Aug. 7. Movies will begin at dusk, around 8:30 p.m. and attendees are encouraged to bring their own seating and snacks.

Parks & Rec also is running a special promotion through its Instagram account (@hopparksrec). If Hopkinton residents 18 years or older engage with the department’s Instagram post promoting that week’s movie, they have a chance to win front-row seats to enjoy the show.

The dates and movies for this year’s program are:

June 26, “Wicked”
July 10, “Moana 2”
July 24, “Inside Out 2”
Aug. 7, “Mufasa: The Lion King”

Also returning this year is the Sunday Concerts on the Common series. Concerts are free and begin at 5 p.m. This year’s schedule kicks off with cover band Antarctica on July 13.

The full concert schedule is as follows:

July 13, Antarctica
July 20, Roy Scott Big Band
July 27, The Hopkinton Community Summer Band
Aug. 3, Carolyn Rae and The Rumors
Aug. 10, Knock on Wood
Aug. 17, Studio Two
Aug. 24, Din Check

Visit the Parks & Rec website for more information on both programs.
