Holiday tour to feature 8 homes, local vendors

The Hopkinton Parent Teacher Organization is bringing back its holiday home tour this year after the program was ended as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Now that we have resumed some normalcy and people are willing to open up their homes again, we thought we’d give it a try,” said Amanda Camahort, HPTO’s fundraising chair.

The home tour event will take place Saturday from noon-4 p.m. It is a self-guided tour through eight private residences in town, each decorated for the holiday season. Camahort said visitors are allowed to explore the first floor of the homes and check out the decor.

“Some homeowners have lined up their own entertainment as well,” added Camahort.

Vendors will be at each property selling holiday goods, and food donated by local restaurants will be provided. Santa will be hanging out at one of the two barns on the tour. The other features a holiday market with additional vendors.

The tour begins at Cornell’s Irish Pub, where visitors will pick up their map. Camahort said the HPTO is working on a digital guide with information about all the participating homes. Tickets are available for purchase on the HPTO’s website.

“It should be a really great event,” said Camahort. “It’s kind of a festive, cozy way to kick off the holiday season and bring the community together, all while supporting the HPTO.”
