Health Department, HPL team up to offer fall flu clinics

The Health Department and the Hopkinton Public Library have partnered up to offer fall vaccine clinics to individuals throughout the MetroWest region.
Fall flu and respiratory clinics for people ages 2 and up begin today at the HPL. Today’s clinic runs from 9:50-11:50 a.m. Clinics on Oct. 28 and Nov. 18 will run from 3:30-6 p.m. Registration for any of the clinics is required.
The clinics are being offered by the Health Department as a result of a grant from the Metrowest Health Foundation (MWHF). The grant funding is intended to improve adult vaccine access. As well, it aligns with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s goal of universal vaccine access for all children in the commonwealth.
“We have two grants that support our vaccination efforts,” Health Director Shaun McAuliffe clarified in an earlier interview. “We will be working to enhance access to vaccines to communities surrounding Hopkinton.”
The Health Department ran flu clinics for senior residents and children earlier this month with a focus on vaccinating the most vulnerable populations in the community first. Following clinics will offer wider access to those looking to get vaccinated.
Because these clinics are funded by the MWHF, individuals from around the MetroWest region are eligible to receive a vaccine.
