HHS drama to stage production of ‘Peter and the Starcatcher’ March 6-8
The Hopkinton High School Drama Ensemble is getting ready to take audiences to Neverland next week with its production of “Peter and the Starcatcher.”
The production runs from March 6-8 at the HHS auditorium. A cast and crew of about 60 students will bring the world of Neverland before the story of “Peter Pan” to life.
“It’s a neat way to tell the history of How Peter Pan became Peter Pan,” said the high school’s performing arts teacher, Kara Sullivan.
“Peter and the Starcatcher” is based on bestselling novels by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson and tells the origin story of Peter Pan, along with many other iconic characters. The show first premiered on Broadway in 2012, according to Playbill.
Sullivan noted that her students have worked hard to put this show together, chipping in to make the sets, costumes and more. Many of the students also are seniors, making this their last show with HHS drama.
“We hope we get a good audience turnout, because the kids have worked so hard,” said Sulliivan.
“Peter and the Starcatcher” is a family-friendly production and has a runtime of about 90 minutes. The March 6 show begins at 4:30 p.m., while the other two performances start at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors, and all seating is general admission.
Tickets can be purchased online or at the door in cash.
