Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.
At Wednesday’s Upper Charles Trail Committee meeting, the committee talked about plans for next Wednesday’s public forum and continued to hear from residents opposed to running a section of the trail along Hayden Rowe Street.
Evan Levine has always considered himself a “3-5 mile” type of runner. But a visit to the doctor sparked a desire to take on the challenge of running a marathon, and the Hopkinton resident will make his 26.2 mile debut April 18 at the Boston Marathon.
The School Committee at Wednesday’s meeting ratified three-year contracts for the teachers and custodians unions and a one-year contract for the school physician.
The 10th annual Know Your Vote forum, sponsored by eHop, will be held Monday, April 25, from 7-9 p.m. from the HCAM studio at 77 Main Street. It will be broadcast live on HCAM and YouTube and be available for viewing on tape.
Our latest Business Profile highlights Miss Tanya’s Family of Nursery Schools, which offers an outdoors-focused summer program for children ages 2-7.
Town meetings tonight include the Democratic Town Caucus (6).
Photo of the Day: This week’s winner of the Hopkinton Independent/Bill’s Pizza photo contest is Kaitlin Cali for this photo of her son, Joshua, on the first day of spring with newly sprouted daffodils behind him.
