Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.
Hopkinton Fire Department personnel were among those called to the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 495 South in Hopkinton on Friday around 8:27 a.m. According to State Police, a 2004 Ford F250 left the roadway and crashed into the bridge abutment at the Fruit Street overpass on the right side of the highway. The sole occupant of the vehicle, a 24-year-old man from Framingham, was pronounced dead after being transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.
Hopkinton’s next monthly trail volunteer day is Saturday, Jan. 8, from 9 a.m.-noon at the Hughes Farm Trail parking area, 192 Hayden Rowe Street. Participants will remove the hundreds of feet of silt fence placed prior to the construction of the trail. The volunteer day is organized by the Hopkinton Trail Coordination and Management Committee (TCMC) and the Hopkinton Trails Club.
