Hopkinton Today: Monday, Feb. 27

by | Feb 27, 2023 | Featured: Features, Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.

Leading off the HHS Sports Roundup, Hillers senior Sean Golembiewski became a state champion with his victory in the 55-meter hurdles at Saturday’s Meet of Champions. We also have updates on wrestling along with tournament schedules for boys hockey, girls hockey and boys basketball.

A citizens’ petition proposed as a private citizen by Trails Coordination and Management Committee chair Peter LaGoy became the main item of debate at the TCMC’s meeting Thursday night, sharply contrasting the perspectives of the chairs of the TCMC and the Upper Charles Trail Committee.

Parks & Recreation Director Jay Guelfi will retire later this year, the town announced Friday.

This week’s Professional Insights features real estate advice from Kim Foemmel of Foemmel Fine Homes.

Town meetings tonight include the Board of Health (5:30) and Planning Board (7).

Photo of the Day: Courtesy of Amit Jagdale, we have some picturesque photos from around town after the latest winter storm.
