Hopkinton Today: Monday, June 19

by | Jun 19, 2023 | Featured: Features, Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

The 20th annual Sharon Timlin Memorial Event was held Saturday. Following the 5K road race, the family fun day was held inside the High School Athletic Center due to the rain.

A trash truck traveling on Interstate 495 in Westborough near the Hopkinton border burst into flames early Friday morning, causing a fuel spill and traffic delays when part of I-495 North in Hopkinton had to be closed for the cleanup.

As part of the Main Street Corridor Project this week, there will be no work on Monday in observance of the Juneteenth holiday. For the rest of the week, the eastbound detour from Grove Street to Maple Street to Hayden Rowe Street may be used as needed.

After much discussion, the School Committee on Thursday named Amanda Fargiano vice chair. Member Holly Morand also expressed interest in assuming that role.
