by | Mar 4, 2024 | Featured: Features, Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

Kristen Santos insists she is not special or different from any of the other teachers at Hopkinton Middle School. But the Massachusetts Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, for one, would disagree. The nonprofit organization recently named Santos its Massachusetts Middle School Physical Education Teacher of the Year.

The weekend was unkind to the Hopkinton High School basketball teams, as the girls fell on Friday and the boys bowed out of the postseason with a loss on Saturday before a packed home crowd.

This week’s Library Corner includes a schedule update along with information on mini-golf in the library, Narcan training, open video game play and more.

The Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition will host its annual Against the Tide event on Saturday, June 15, at Hopkinton State Park. The event features multiple competitions and recreational activities, including a half-mile or 1-mile swim, a 5K or 10K run and a 3-mile fitness walk.

Town meetings tonight include the Sustainable Green Committee (6), Planning Board (7), Cultural Council (7)and Woodville Historic District Commission (7).

Photo of the Day: The drive to recall the Select Board continued Sunday, as (from left) organizer Paula Garland collected signatures from Ruth Cardillo and Ashley McNamara.
