Hopkinton Today: Monday, May 29

by | May 29, 2023 | Featured: Features,

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

After Town Meeting’s resounding vote of no confidence earlier this month on the activities of the Upper Charles Trail Committee, a Select Board subcommittee on Sunday morning drafted a public survey to generate input on the committee’s future.

The inaugural Dick Hoyt Memorial Yes You Can Run Together Road Race was held Saturday in Hopkinton.

Town Manager Norman Khumalo on Friday released a series of documents detailing the town’s interaction with the Eversource liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility on Wilson Street in an effort to allay public concerns about the operation.

On Thursday, the School Committee voted 4-0 for the superintendent to enter negotiations with Abigail Hanscom, a Hopkinton resident who is director of student services in Westwood, for the position of director of student services.

As part of the Main Street Corridor Project this week, there will be no work on Monday (Memorial Day). The eastbound detour from Grove Street to Maple Street to Hayden Rowe Street might be used Tuesday through Friday.

Photo of the Day: The Hopkinton High School boys track team finished second in the Division 2 state championship meet on Sunday. Senior standout Sean Golembiewski won titles in the 100-meter hurdles and the 400 hurdles to lead the way.
