Good morning, Hopkinton!
For those new to the site, this post is a daily update we call Hopkinton Today. We’ll have a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights for the coming day and a video or two to brighten your day.
While the state’s death total from COVID-19 surpassed 4,000, in Hopkinton the weekend metrics showed nine deaths and 101 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
Because the town recycling center remains closed to the public, EL Harvey is allowing residents to place additional recycling material at the curb for pickup. It must be in a sturdy bin — clearly marked “recycling” — that can be grabbed and lifted by the truck’s mechanical arm. Click here to see what types of containers are acceptable.
The tribute to first responders and others who are making a difference during the pandemic has been installed at the Town Common. For more background on the project spearheaded by resident Lindsay McDermott, click here.
Hopkinton brothers Aarav and Arjun Mehta have started a charity called ARM in ARM with a goal of distributing athletic gear to children in countries around the world.
