Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.
The School Committee at its meeting Thursday night unanimously approved the student improvement plans for each of the district’s five schools. The common thread among all the presentations was weaving a focus on social and emotional learning (SEL) with education on diversity and equity.
Hopkinton’s latest COVID-19 update shows a spike in cases to 26. It also includes guidance for those who are traveling and has information about booster shots.
Blooms, Brews & BBQs, Weston Nurseries’ annual fundraiser for the Jimmy Fund, is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 18. It will be a day of live music and zesty barbecue along with beer and wine from a variety of vendors.
Photo of the Day: As Hopkinton veterans Michael Shepard (foreground) and Michael Arakelian (right) salute, Anthony Charest plays taps during the monthly veterans tribute at the Town Common. The ceremony is held the first Sunday of every month, at 7 p.m.
