Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.
While many athletic events have been canceled due to the COVID surge, Hopkinton High School indoor track and field athletes have been keeping busy. At Monday’s Massachusetts State Track Coaches Association Holiday Challenge, Kate Powers set a school record in the weight throw and won the event by more than 3 feet, while Sean Golembiewski broke his own school record in the 55-meter hurdles.
With major cellular providers set to phase out 3G coverage as early as February, the town is seeking to make residents and businesses with older technology aware of the potential loss of cell and data functions, specifically 911 service availability.
