Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.
The Select Board at its remote meeting Tuesday night heard from advocates seeking a car parade for graduating high school students in the hope that it will become an annual town tradition. Last year, a divided Select Board voted to allow the event with the condition that it be the final one, primarily due to concerns about disruption to traffic and emergency access.
In a statement released Wednesday, state Rep. James Arena-DeRosa announced that the party caucus process will remain in effect for May’s election because the home rule petition he filed late last year has not yet been passed by the Legislature.
This week’s Police Log includes reports of a vehicle hitting a tree on Ash Street, a puppy in the roadway on Granite Street and multiple hit-and-run accidents.
The Hopkinton Health Department announced that a Narcan administration training session will be held Thursday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Hopkinton Public Library. It originally was scheduled for Tuesday but was canceled due to the snowstorm that forced the closure of municipal buildings, including the library.
The Hopkinton Trails Club will hold its next monthly meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 21, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Hopkinton Town Hall. The meetings are open to all, and anyone with an interest is encouraged to attend.
Town meetings tonight include the Board of Registrars (6), Commissioners of Trust Funds (6), School Committee (7) and Zoning Advisory Committee (7).
