Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.
A traffic consultant told the Elementary School Building Committee on Tuesday that building a three-grade school on Hayden Rowe Street was doable and would not significantly impact traffic there. However, he said it likely would add an additional 150-200 cars during peak times.
The latest Police Log includes one arrest along with reports of a falling tree injuring a man, graffiti at Center School and a wild animal in a closet.
Hopkinton High School’s student literary magazine, Marginal, recently won honors in two national competitions, and junior Emily Jiang won an Outstanding Art designation for her oil painting titled “Free Sailing.”
Hopkinton High School and Hopkinton Middle School students took home a number of awards in the Scholastic Arts Awards and Scholastic Writing Awards competitions.
This week’s Hillers Thrillers Athlete Spotlight shines on senior Luke Boothroyd, a standout middle-distance runner for the Hopkinton High School boys indoor track and field team.
Town meetings tonight include the Cemetery Commission (6) and Cultural Council (6:30).
