Hopkinton Today: Thursday, July 11

by | Jul 11, 2024 | Featured: Features, Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

The American Ryder Cup team surprised much of the golf world when it selected PGA Tour standout Keegan Bradley, a 2004 Hopkinton High School graduate, as team captain for the 2025 event.

While a district attorney review of an insufficiently redacted document involving the Hopkinton Police Department came back with a recommendation of no criminal charges, town counsel on Tuesday acknowledged that it was a devastatingly regrettable situation.

This week’s Police Log includes reports of road rage, a rock destroying a windshield, vehicles blocking the Main Street bike path and more.

This weekend’s HCA concerts feature the Chris Fitz Band on Friday and Walk that Walk Blues on Saturday.

Town meetings tonight include the School Committee (7) and Open Space Preservation Commission (7).

Photo of the Day: A protective barrel at the junction of Wood Street and Main Street has been struck by vehicles multiple times, as has the telephone pole (or what remains of it) behind the barrel, leaving a messy scene at the busy intersection.
