A Boston Marathon detail assignment six years ago for Hopkinton Fire Department Lt. John Krauss connected him with the Michael Lisnow Respite Center, forging a bond that inspired him and his wife to run the Boston Marathon in support of the center’s clients.
The Select Board at its meeting Tuesday night approved the hiring of a new police officer in a 4-0 vote and recognized three Eagle Scouts for their leadership projects.
Leading off Independent Thoughts, there have been a few business changes in town as winter fades away, including some new food offerings. Also, the Hopkinton Sustainable Green Committee is organizing the town-wide Yellow Bag Day cleanup April 6.
