Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.
Hopkinton Police Chief Joseph Bennett, during an appearance on Monday’s Hopkinton Hangout Hour on HCAM, said the while the pandemic continues to put people on edge, his department has worked hard to keep things positive. Bennett also touched on the department’s recently released five-year strategic plan and the recent arrest of a naked couple that was out walking their dog.
Early in-person voting for the primary election continues today (8 a.m.-7 p.m.) at the Senior Center. Mail-in ballots can be dropped off at the secure drop box outside Town Hall or at the polls on primary election day, Sept. 1 (7 a.m.-8 p.m.) at Hopkinton Middle School.
The Select Board meets today at 5 p.m. to go over the Annual Town Meeting warrant and take positions on the articles. The board also will discuss a reduction in the required quorum in order to ensure that the Sept. 12 Town Meeting is official even if turnout is low.
Also tonight, the Conservation Commission meets at 6:30 and the Growth Study Committee meets at 7.
