Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.
After the repair of a water main break on Wilson Street near the intersection with East Main Street on Monday, the Water-Sewer Department cautioned that there may be pockets of discoloration throughout the entire system for several days. Residents are advised to check their water before using it and might need to flush the cold water faucet to help clear the lines.
The town announced that 2021 Annual Town Meeting will commence on May 3, and articles may be submitted to the Select Board/town manager’s office by Feb. 2.
Superintendent Carol Cavanaugh emailed the schools community Sunday with a reminder that all students must show proof of vaccination for influenza immunization by Dec. 31. There remained a large number of students for whom the information had not been submitted as the schools closed in on the start of winter break Thursday.
Town meetings tonight include the Conservation Commission (7) and Community Preservation Committee (7). The School Committee will meet in executive session at 7.
