Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.

John Quinones, the 15-year-old Keefe Tech student from Hopkinton who passed away late last week, was remembered as “an old soul who would give you the shirt off his back and was always willing to lend a hand.”

Hopkinton Boy Scouts Troop 4 will hold its annual Christmas tree recycling fundraiser on Jan. 8. The fee is a $15 donation per tree, which includes curbside pickup. Participation is limited to Hopkinton residents, and a reservation is required.
