Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

The Lunar New Year celebration is a time to bring joy and cultural richness to the community, said Sheri Zeng, president of the Hopkinton Chinese American Association. This year’s event, marking the Year of the Dragon, will be held on Saturday, Feb. 10, from 5-9 p.m. at Hopkinton High School.

Even after the Hopkinton/Dover-Sherborn co-op girls ice hockey team went 10 games without a victory, coach Ron Chin had the sense that his team was getting close. The effort is paying off. The team rattled off three wins and a tie after the early rough start, putting itself back in the mix for a potential playoff spot due to its difficult schedule.

This week’s Senior Snippets has information on free exercise classes, Mardi Gras mask decorating, garden therapy, a Valentine’s Day party and more.

Our latest Business Profile highlights Varsity Movers, which began when founder Kierin Herr was in high school and has blossomed into a company that operates six days a week with a full, professionally trained team.

This week’s Real Estate Transactions list shows two sales, including one for $1.68 million.

Town meetings tonight include the Select Board (6), Elementary School Building Committee (6) and Conservation Commission (7).
