Hopkinton Today: Tuesday, Jan. 10

by | Jan 11, 2022 | Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.

Shelly Moran, the math coach for the Hopkinton Public Schools, has been figuring out creative ways to engage young learners in arithmetic concepts. Recently, several students at Elmwood School created art projects that explored their knowledge of multiplying numbers.

The road has not always been a smooth one so far for the Dover-Sherborn/Hopkinton High School girls ice hockey co-op, but the team has been able to handle the challenges that have come its way with poise, much to the delight of coach Nick Grout.

The town moved up the deadline for applications from local organizations seeking to obtain a Boston Marathon charity number. Applications now are due by noon on Jan. 18. The Select Board will choose the winners during a public meeting at 6 p.m. that day.

The town announced this month that dog licenses now may be renewed online, thanks to a joint effort by the information technology director and the town clerk.

This week’s edition of Library Corner has information on Conversation Circles, a program about “Sensational Snakes” and the Freedom Team Book Club.

Town meetings tonight include the Board of Assessors (5:30), Select Board (6) and Housing Authority (7:15).
