Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.
Hopkinton’s annual July 4 Horribles Parade will not be held for a second straight year. “With the [COVID] restrictions just getting lifted and all the construction around the Town Common, it just felt like it would make sense to hold off this year,” said Dan McIntyre, who organizes the event with the help of family and friends. “We’ll come back stronger next year.”
Hopkinton High School’s spring sports teams continued tournament play Monday. The baseball and boys tennis teams posted impressive victories, while softball and boys lacrosse suffered season-ending losses.
Smiley Ball, the mascot of the Worcester Red Sox Triple-A baseball team, will pay a visit to UniBank’s Hopkinton branch today from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. UniBank is a founding partner of the team and is sponsoring fireworks shows following all Friday night home games as well as July 3 and 4.
Town meetings tonight include the Conservation Commission (7).
