The greater Hopkinton community will have a chance to fight a “silent killer” of women with a celebration of life — a fashion show — on April 12 and 13. The fun evening, which includes dinner and a cash bar, will benefit research in detecting and curing ovarian cancer.
Hopkinton High School senior Kate Powers ended her indoor track and field season by setting a state record at the USA Track & Field Youth Nationals in New York. Competing in the weight throw, Powers recorded a distance of 52 feet, 7.75 inches.
Relatives, friends and neighbors of John Birri recognized his 90th birthday Sunday with a drive-by celebration at his West Elm Street home.
