Volunteers at the Hopkinton Senior Center thrift shop are questioning why their hours no longer will be accepted by the state toward an exemption of their property tax bills and how the situation was handled.
The Hopkinton High School girls volleyball team played nearly three-fourths of its schedule in the opening month, playing nearly a match every other day. But the Hillers did not let the jam-packed slate slow them down, winning 10 of 14 to start the year.
In Business Briefs, David Fine and Joseph Baldiga, both Hopkinton residents who work at Mirick O’Connell, were selected to the 2024 Massachusetts Super Lawyers list.
John K. George Jr., 77, died suddenly on Oct. 8. He was the husband of Kathleen M. (McCarthy) George, to whom he was married for 54 years. He coached Little League Baseball in Hopkinton for close to 10 years. He was also a staple in his wife’s third grade classroom at Elmwood School as a math tutor/guru.
