Good morning, Hopkinton!
For those new to the site, this post is a daily update we call Hopkinton Today. We’ll have a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights for the coming day and a video or two to brighten your day.
Yesterday’s big news was Gov. Charlie Baker extending school closures through the end of the school year in June. This includes non-emergency day care.
Here is Hopkinton’s COVID-19 update for Tuesday.
Taylor Chace-Myers, who grew up in Hopkinton, recently appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” as the program’s #HealthCareHero and was awarded $10,000 in recognition of her efforts as a nurse at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
ATOZ Laboratories, which hopes to open a marijuana testing facility on South Street, has scheduled its required virtual community outreach meeting for May 7 at 6:30 p.m. In case you missed it, check out this story from February, when the company’s owner discussed plans for the facility with the Select Board (it’s the second item).
Video of the day: Here’s a dog sitting on a couch eating a carrot. That’s all.
Music video of the day: For you country fans, here’s the Oak Ridge Boys performing “Elvira” from 1981. Enjoy.
