Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

Now six months into his term as Hopkinton’s state representative, James Arena-DeRosa is beginning to hit his stride as a legislator. Arena-DeRosa recently spent an hour sharing his goals for Hopkinton with the Independent and how his current duties differ from the public policy work he previously has accomplished on the federal and state levels.

The Parks & Recreation Commission at its 90-minute meeting Monday evening discussed the tragic drowning of a 21-year-old Hopkinton resident whose body was recovered in Lake Maspenock on July 22.

The latest edition of Senior Snippets includes information on programs including the annual Ice Cream Social and the Thrift Shop Red Tag Sale.

This week’s Real Estate Transactions shows an exceptionally busy week, with 13 sales.
