Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

At Monday night’s Zoning Advisory Committee meeting, members discussed an updated proposal for rezoning parcels on South Street and voted to move it forward.

Former Hopkinton Police Sgt. Tim Brennan will face the state’s police disciplinary commission at a hearing this Friday that will probe into the circumstances surrounding his controversial firing earlier this year.

Last week, the full board and a partial subgroup of the School Committee reviewed policies regarding civil rights and harassment and how they are handled in the district.

Residents have expressed plans to oppose a proposed gas station on West Main Street at Wednesday’s Board of Appeals meeting.

The Commission on Disability on Monday decided to invite the town’s police chief, police lieutenant and fire chief to a Sept. 19 meeting to discuss how to implement its first responder initiative.

The Hopkinton Charity Golf Event, sponsored by the Hopkinton Women’s Club, is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 9, at Shining Rock Golf Club in Northbridge.

Town meetings tonight include the Upper Charles Trail Committee (6:30) and the Board of Appeals (7).
