Hopkinton Today: Wednesday, Aug. 30

by | Aug 30, 2023 | Featured: Features, Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

In the wake of several MetroWest home burglaries that appeared to target homes where the occupants were on vacation — often in South Asia — the Hopkinton Police Department and the Middlesex Country District Attorney’s Office have provided safety tips for homeowners.

Interim Chief Gary Daugherty announced Tuesday that the Hopkinton Fire Department will purchase new equipment after receiving funding from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The latest Senior Snippets includes information on the annual Police/Fire Bocce Tournament, Senior Spirit Week, the Senior Center Book Club and more.

This week’s Real Estate Transactions includes seven property exchanges, including two topping $1 million.

Photo of the Day: Congressman Jim McGovern (left) pays a recent visit to Hopkinton’s Long Life Farm to learn about the no-till, USDA-certified, organic vegetable farm owned and run by Laura Davis and Donald Sutherland.
