Hopkinton Today: Wednesday, Nov. 16

by | Nov 16, 2022 | Featured: Features, Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.

The Hopkinton High School boys soccer team survived a late charge by Bedford to hold on for a 4-3 win in Tuesday’s Division 2 state semifinal, setting off a celebration amid falling snow in Leominster.

The Hopkinton High School boys and girls cross country teams both finished fourth at the Division 1B meet Friday in Wrentham, earning spots in this Saturday’s Division 1 all-state meet in Devens.

Leading off the Select Board roundup, the board moved forward a tax increment financing agreement intended to encourage Altaeros Energies to relocate its headquarters to South Street, and the town paid tribute to outgoing Friends of Hopkinton President Ann Click.

The Board of Health at its meeting Monday discussed how COVID-19 has become a more normalized part of existence after two years of coping with the pandemic, as well as how Hopkinton might be eligible for national recognition for how it has responded to the pandemic.

Town meetings tonight include the Elementary School Building Committee (6), Upper Charles Trail Committee (7) and Marathon Fund Committee (7).

Photo of the Day: Work is underway on the development that will be situated just off Hayden Rowe Street near the intersection with College Street.
