Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.
National/State Election
Over 10,000 Hopkinton residents showed up to vote on Election Day Tuesday or via early voting. Here are the highlights:
- Vice President Kamala Harris outperformed former President Donald Trump in Hopkinton. Harris took 6,634 votes to Trump’s 3,120.
- Residents voted in favor of Democratic candidates; U.S. Rep. James McGovern and Sen. Elizabeth Warren outperformed respective challengers Cornelius Shea (I) and John Deaton (R).
- Tamisha Civil received 5,629 votes in the race for Governor’s Council against Francis Crimmins, who took 3,646 votes.
- Question 1, which would allow the state auditor to audit the legislature, was the only ballot measure Hopkinton residents voted to support.

Benjamin Hogan, a member of Hopkinton Middle School’s custodial staff, was arraigned in Milford District Court on one count of possession of child pornography on Monday.
The Planning Board voted Monday to present — but not recommend — two plans for the Nov. 18 Special Town Meeting that allow Hopkinton to comply with the MBTA Communities Act.
In the latest Hopkinton High School Sports Roundup, girls soccer won 6-0 in a postseason matchup against Shrewsbury, and field hockey advanced to the Division 2 quarterfinals.
A tractor-trailer collision with a telephone pole on Pond Street Tuesday afternoon sent the driver to the hospital, knocked down utility lines and forced the road to close for the rest of the day.
